Water is pumped and circulated through the pipe work, along a trench, down the borehole(s) and up again, through the heat exchanger which conducts the thermal heat as it travels, this in turn feeds your radiators or under floor heating. We have successfully installed vertical ground loops for new build properties as well as retro-fitting to older homes.
A hole is drilled to the underlying water table; this is pumped through a heat exchanger and returned to ground via a soak away. The extracted heat may then be used to heat a property or swimming pool.
